Quaker Houghton Aqua-Quench 365 E Polymer Quenchant for mass quenching (ISO 6743-14) UAD
Aqua-Quench 365 E is the new European formulation of polyalkylene glycol (PAG) based quenchants AQ 365. Its slower cooling rate during the critical martensitic transformation temperature range minimizes risk of cracking and distortion and so enables the treatment of higher hardenability steels not previously suitable for quenching in conventional PAG type quenchants.
Aqua-Quench 365 E eliminates the smoke, fume and fire hazards associated with oil quenching and provides flexibility of quenching speed. Its nitrite free corrosion inhibitor system provides excellent protection to quench tank, fixtures and fittings, cooling systems and associated pipework.
Aqua-Quench 365 E can be used for Induction hardening for specific parts.
Aqua-Quench 365 E is diluted with water in use and provides extremely uniform quenching characteristics. The quenching speed of Aqua-Quench 365 E can be varied to suit the steel specific steel hardenability and component requirements by varying the concentration and temperature of the solution and the degree of agitation in the quench tank.
o Economic – Develops optimum properties in componentsEconomic – Flexibility of quenching speed
o Economic – Reduce cooling rate during the critical martensitic transformation temperature range than conventional PAG’s
o Economic – Eliminates need costly alkali cleaning or vapour degreasing prior to tempering
o Economic – Quenching speed not significantly influenced by contamination with water
o Operator friendly – Diethanolamine free and boron free
o Operator friendly – Eliminates smoke and fume during quenching
o Environmetal friendly – Nitrite free corrosion inhibitor system
o Safety – Eliminates fire hazard
o Safety – Eliminates oily floors around quench tanks
- Concentrate Appearance – Translucent amber fluid
- Specific Gravity@ 15. 5°C – 1.07
- Kinematic Viscosity @ 40°C in mm2/s – 312
- pH@ 10% (OM) – 10.3
- refractometer index – 2.3
Use diluted in water.
The concentration of the Aqua Quench 365 E solution influences the thickness of the polymer film which is formed on the surface of the component and hence controls the quenching speed. As the concentration increases, thicker films are produced thereby reducing the quenching speed and giving lower maximum cooling rates
