Castrol Aero™ 35 is a high quality, MIL-PRF-6083F based ISO Grade 15 mineral hydraulic fluid, containing antiwear agents and corrosion inhibitors. It also contains a shear stable viscosity index improver, anti-oxidant and an approved EP additive system which reduces martensitic streaking of landing gear outer cylinders and galling of shock strut upper bearings. This formulation is specially designed to reduce the "stick-slip" properties of MIL-PRF- 6083F fluids. Aero 35 is available in dyed red (Douglas Aircraft DPM 6177) or straw/yellow (undyed) (Boeing Spec BMS 3-32B, Type I).

 

Application

Aero 35 is specially designed for use in landing gear shock struts. Additionally, Aero 35 is compatible with approved MILPRF- 5606H and MIL-PRF-6083F hydraulic fluids. It is not completely compatible with synthetic gas turbine lubricants nor with phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids. It is compatible with other petroleum-based and synthesized hydrocarbon lubricants, but contamination should be avoided in order to maintain the unique properties of Aero 35. This product is compatible with most seals, hoses, and paints, normally used in shock struts and dispensing equipment connected with this application. While certain grades of the above materials are fully compatible with Aero 35, it is advisable to confirm acceptability of use with either the material manufacturer or Castrol.

 

Aero 35 Red is formulated in accordance with Douglas Aircraft Specification DPS 3.334, referenced as Douglas stocknumber DPM 6177.
Aero 35 Yellow (undyed) is formulated in accordance with Boeing Specification BMS 3-32B, Type I as an alternative to Boeing Service Letters 707-SL-12-2; 727-SL-12-2; 737-SL-12-2; 757-SL-27-15-B. These letters instruct the addition of an EP additive to either the standard or corrosion inhibited mineral based hydraulic fluid for use in their landing gear shock struts.

DESCRIPTION

Castrol Aero HF 585B is a mineral oil based low viscosity hydraulic fluid which is intended for use in hydraulic systems where rapid system response is required, particularly at low temperatures. Castrol Aero HF 585B is ideally suited to accumulator driven emergency control systems. Castrol Aero HF 585B is produced from low viscosity highly refined mineral basestock, shear stable viscosity index improver, antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors and anti-wear additives.

 

APPLICATION

Hydraulic systems operating at low ambient temperatures or driven by accumulators, such as Emergency Shut Down Valves and Watertight Door Controls.

 

CONDITIONS OF USE

The wearing of impervious PVC (or other suitable material) apron and gloves, together with eye protection is recommended. Contaminated clothing should be changed immediately and thoroughly cleansed before re-use. This applies especially to under garments.

Castrol Brayco™ Micronic 882 is a red coloured synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluid ISO viscosity Grade 15 for aircraft, ordnance, and industrial use. It contains no VI improvers and, unlike conventional hydraulic fluids, is not subject to polymer breakdown under high shear conditions. It can be used as a replacement and make-up oil for MIL-PRF-5606, and it is also compatible with MIL-PRF-6083 in all proportions. Brayco Micronic 882 has a high flash and fire point, exceptionally high auto ignition point, and very low flame propagation. Its properties also include controlled rubber swell for long seal life, low foaming, excellent anti-wear, and good corrosion and oxidation stability.

 

Application

Brayco Micronic 882 is primarily designed as a fire resistant hydraulic fluid for aircraft and missile use, but also has many industrial applications where fire and fluid toxicity are a hazard. Brayco Micronic 882 is a direct replacement for MIL-PRF-5606.

Castrol Brayco™ 589 is intended for preservation of turboprop and turbojet engines. This corrosion preventative oil is capable of limited use, not to exceed 25 hours, as an aircraft engine lubricant, and can be used for both preservation and final acceptance runs of aircraft engines requiring MIL-PRF-7808 oils.

 

Application

Since Brayco 589 is a synthetic ester based fluid it may adversely affect certain paints and elastomers. Serious deterioration of rubber parts, coatings, paint, and other organic materials may result from use of this product in systems designed for use with petroleum based fluids. Customers should determine the compatibility of existing components and make any changes as required to accompany use of this fluid.

The recommended operating temperature range for MIL-PRF-7808 type oils are from –54°C to 149°C (-65°F to 300°F).

Specifications Brayco 589 meets all the requirements of, and is qualified to MIL-PRF-8188D. This fluid is identified by NATO Code: C-638.

Castrol Braycote™ 622 is a synthetic hydrocarbon base, non-soap thickened grease. Description
BP Turbo Oil 2380 gas turbine lubricant is a combination of a highly stable synthetic base fluid and a unique chemical additive package. The combination provides outstanding thermal and oxidation stability to resist deterioration and deposit formation in both the liquid and vapour phases, as well as excellent resistance to foaming.
The effective operating range of BP Turbo Oil 2380 is between -40°C and 204°C. Pour point is -57°C. The product has a high specific heat in order to ensure good heat transfer from oil-cooled engine parts. The high degree of oxidation resistance of BP Turbo Oil 2380 permits long periods of operation without significant increase in viscosity or total acidity.

 

Applications
