Description

Castrol React Performance DOT 4 is a high boiling synthetic brake fluid which far exceeds the requirements of the SAE J1704, FMVSS 116 DOT 3 and DOT 4, ISO 4925 and JIS K2233 specifications. This product has been formulated from mixed polyalkylene glycol ethers and borate ester together with other high performance additives and inhibitors which give ultimate system protection against the effects of corrosion and high temperature vapour lock.
Castrol React Performance DOT 4 brake fluid is designed for use in all brake systems particularly those which are exposed to extreme conditions such as high performance vehicles and race conditions.

 

Application

Castrol React Performance DOT 4 brake fluid has been specifically designed to be a high temperature alternative to DOT 5.1 fluids. Its superior characteristics give added benefit in situations where extreme conditions are encountered and ultimate braking response required.
Castrol React Performance DOT 4 brake fluid is based on glycol ether and borate ester technology and as such has a high vapour lock point (measurement relating to high temperature performance under braking conditions). Because of the nature of this formulation, the vapour lock point can be sustained at a higher level than conventional glycol ether based fluids during the service life of the product.
Castrol React Performance DOT 4 brake fluid is specially engineered to cater for continuous start stop braking under city driving conditions, fast driving and hilly terrain where higher brake temperatures can be generated.
It is fully compatible with other fluids meeting FMVSS 116 DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 - however, in order to maintain the superior performance characteristics of Castrol React Performance DOT4 avoid mixing with other brake fluid products.
All conventional brake fluids deteriorate during use.
It is strongly recommended that Castrol React Performance DOT 4 should be changed according to the vehicle manufacturers’ advice.
In the absence of such advice, a 2 year change period is recommended.

 

Conditions of Use

Castrol React Performance DOT 4 brake fluid should not be used in braking systems for which a mineral oil based fluid is recommended (for example, some Citroen systems, for which Castrol LHM is suitable and Rolls Royce systems, for which Castrol HSMO Plus is approved).
As with all brake fluids which contain glycol ethers, care should be taken to avoid spilling this product on paintwork, as it may have a damaging effect. In case of spillage, rinse the affected area with water immediately: Do not wipe.

DESCRIPTION
Castrol Spheerol™ EPL range of greases are lithium based products containing highly refined mineral oils and fortified with extreme pressure (EP) additives as well as corrosion and oxidation inhibitors. These greases have been formulated with additives that provide good film strength under medium to high loads.

 

APPLICATION
The Spheerol EPL range are general purpose greases designed for plant wide lubrication.
The range extends from a NLGI 2 for general purpose bearing lubrication to a NLGI 00 semi-fluid grease suitable for centralised lubrication systems and grease filled gearboxes. APPLICATION

Castrol R40 is a castor-based lubricant containing specially prepared additives to prevent rapid deterioration through oxidation. Its superior oiliness over mineral oils, imparted by the chemical structure of its components, gives it a great affinity for hot surfaces and provides excellent load-carrying properties which is an important consideration with highly stressed engines running at peak revolutions.

 

Application

Although Castrol R40 is primarily designed for the racing world, its unique properties can also benefit the private owner interested in really high performance.

When selecting an engine lubricant for sports cars, modified saloons or high performance motorcycles, it must not be assumed that a special oil is always necessary. In the vast majority of cases the well-known, widely available brands of Castrol motor oil are entirely satisfactory for racing, and most modified and tuned production vehicles will operate perfectly well on these. Where special camshafts are fitted though, there may be a case for using Castrol R40 as the small areas in contact will be heavily loaded especially where double valve springs are fitted.

For racing and high speed rallying, however, Castrol R40 does provide the ultimate in lubrication in return for extra cost. If the best possible performance coupled with reliability is the aim, then the remarkable stamina and great film strength of Castrol R40 will provide a valuable 'margin of safety' at ultra high engine speeds and temperatures.

CAUTION
Never mix Castrol R40 with mineral based oils. It should always be remembered that Castrol R40 will not mix with conventional mineral or synthetic crankcase oil.
