BP Turbinol X-EP 46 - Premium Quality Turbine Oil

BP Turbinol X-EP 46 - Premium Quality Turbine Oil

Description
The Turbinol X-EP range are based on hydro treated base oils and specially selected additives to provide a very high degree of oxidation stability . They also protect metal surfaces against corrosion and suppress foaming, whilst retaining good air release and demulsibility.
The formulation is zinc-free and ashless. The oils are compatible with the components used in turbines and associated equipment.
Turbinol X -EP is formulated to provide extra load carrying performance for geared turbine applications.

Applications
Turbinol X -EP oils can be used for the lubrication and cooling of bearings and gear boxes of steam, gas and water turbines and associated equipment (eg some turbine governor systems, sealing oil systems, turbo-couplings and the lubrication of turbo compressors).
Turbinol X -EP contains a load carrying additive and can be used in geared turbines with a common oil reservoir.
The grades in this range are formulated to meet the demanding requirements of the following major turbine manufacturers:-

  • Siemens - KWU TLV 9013 04 (gas & steam turbines)
  • Asea Brown-Boveri (ABB) HTGD 90 117 D
  • General Electric GEK 32568E
  • General Electric GEK 101941

and meet the requirements of the following specifications:-

  • DIN 51515 part 1
  • ISO 8068
  • BS 489

Main Benefits

  • Very long useful oil life because of strong resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation
  • Wide operating temperature range.
  • Excellent air release properties.
  • Excellent protection against corrosion, even in the presence of condensed water.
  • Excellent water separation.
  • Compatibility with standard seal materials and nonferrous metals.
  • Superior load carrying for geared turbine applications

BP Energol OGL 461 - Open Gear Lubricant

BP Energol OGL 461 - Open Gear Lubricant

Description
Energol OGL series are advanced technology open gear lubricants incorporating both extreme pressure additives and finely dispersed graphite for load carrying. They are intended primarily for the lubrication of large, slow to medium speed, heavily loaded gears. In addition to providing outstanding load carrying, they are formulated to have excellent adhesion and resistance to "fling-off" under extreme pressure conditions.
Energol OGL 461 is a NLGI 2 grade Lithium soap thickened product based on a ISO 460 mineral base oil.
Energol OGL 1500 is a semi-fluid NLGI 00 grade thickened with Lithium soap and based on a ISO 1500 base oil.
Due to the exceptionally high base oil viscosity of Energol OGL 1500, this product is particularly suited to the most arduous applications under sever conditions of high load and low speed.
The low temperature properties and pumpability of Energol OGL 1500 are suited to spray applications under a wide variety of conditions. The products is easily pumped from drum to application spray nozzles with conventional transfer pumps.
The exceptional FZG gear test performance of Energol OGL products demonstrates a high level of protection against wear and scuffing.
Energol OGL series are lead-free and chlorine-free. They contain no solvent or diluent and pose minimal environmental concern. Absence of solvent or diluents also enables the products to maintain full specification during storage and use.

Applications
Energol OGL series are recommended for the lubrication of large, heavily loaded slow moving open gears in heavy duty industrial applications as found in the steel, cement, paper, chemical and mining industries - with the 1500 grade being particularly suited to the most severe high-load and low-speed conditions.
They can be used in these applications where the operating temperatures are high, for example, ring gears on cement kilns and ball mills. They also have applications in plain bearings where the high base oil viscosities and high graphite content give additional protection.

Main Benefits
Energol OGL series provide the following benefits:

  • Outstanding load-carrying and anti-wear properties for superior protection against wear
  • Good protection against rust and corrosion leading to longer equipment life, reduced downtime and reduced maintenance costs
  • Reduced consumption and lower lubricant costs arising from the good adhesive nature of the product
  • Minimal impact on the environment because of the absence of lead, nitrite and solvent
  • Energol OGL 1500 is suitable for the most arduous conditions and has excellent pumpability and sprayability giving improved lubrication and reduced energy consumption
