Description
The Energol LPT grades are refrigeration compressor lubricants formulated from highly refined naphtenic base oils for use in both large industrial and small domestic refrigeration units.

 

Applications
The Energol LPT range is formulated to function as lubricants, coolants as well as sealants in refrigerating compressors. They maintain good lubrication properties at the high temperatures reached during the compression phase and good fluidity at the low temperatures within the evaporators. Excellent lubrication of the moving parts in the compressor as well as recycling of the oil, entrained into the system by the refrigerant, are therefore ensured.
The chemical stability of the Energol LPT oils prevents them from reacting with the refrigerants used in refrigeration systems to form potentially disruptive breakdown products. All Energol LPT grades are suitable for use in systems using Ammonia (NH3) or halogenated hydrocarbons. They can also be used where good low temperature flow properties are required in the lubricant.

Description
Energol TH-HT is a range of industrial turbine lubricants, formulated from highly refined, mineral base oils and a selection of (ashless) performance additives.
The inherent oxidation resistance of these oils is further enhanced through the inclusion of an oxidation inhibitor.
Other additives in the oils ensure good protection against corrosion, suppression of foaming, enhanced water separation and load –carrying characteristics.

 

Applications
The Energol TH-HT oils are formulated to lubricate and cool the bearings of industrial turbines. They can be used in steam and water turbines. These oils tolerate bulk operating temperatures up to 100 °C and occasional peak temperatures of up to 130 °C.

BP Energol WM2

 

Description
Energol WM2 is a grade of white oil for the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and plastics industry. It is colourless, odourless and tasteless and conforms to the purity standards of British Pharmacopoeia.

 

Applications
Energol WM oils are used for machine lubrication where, for reasons of hygiene, there is a possibility of contact with foodstuffs, medicines or cosmetics.
They are sometimes used in the lubrication of CO2 compressors in the food industry. In these applications, however, white oils have only limited oxidation stability and lubrication properties, so particular attention must be paid to the operation and maintenance of such plant.

Description
The lubricants in this range are formulated from blended alkylated benzene synthetic base stocks, and incorporate additives that give extended oil life and machine cleanliness when used in refrigerator compressors, particularly where ammonia is the refrigerant.
The oxidation stability is superior to that of mineral oils when used in air compressors.

 

Applications
The Enersyn LPS lubricants possess physical and chemical properties that are highly suited to modern refrigeration equipment. They are recommended for the reciprocating and rotary screw compressors employed in industrial refrigeration systems.

These grades are superior to conventional mineral oil refrigerator lubricants where evaporation temperatures are low (from -60 °C down to -100 °C) and where the refrigerants are of the critical fluorocarbon type (R13, R22 and R502).

They are also the preferred lubricants for ammonia compressors. Because the Enersyn LPS grades have low carbon forming tendencies, they are suitable for air compressors operating with high discharge air temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of fires and explosions.

BP Enersyn RC-S 32 - Synthetic Rotary Air Compressor Lubricant

 

Description
A range of premium synthetic (non-mineral) lubricants, based on polyalpha-olefin materials.
The lubricants are fully formulated, and contain anti-wear additives to enhance lubrication, anti-oxidants to minimize oxidation and the formation of deposits, and corrosion inhibitors to control the effects of moisture contamination.

 

Applications
These lubricants have been designed to provide a high level of performance in air compressors working in severe conditions of duty.

The ISO 32 grade is recommended for rotary-screw compressors, and the ISO 68 grade for rotary-vane type.

With their low carbon-formation tendencies and high oxidation resistance, they can also be used in circulatory systems of plain and rolling bearings operating at high temperatures - as in paper-making machinery.

Enersyn RC-S lubricants fully meet the currently defined requirements of the ISO-L-DAH classification for rotary-screw compressor mineral oils, and show excellent oxidation resistance, as assessed by a rotary-compressor oxidation test (ROCOT) drawn from a modified Pneurop oxidation test using Iron Naphthenate catalyst at 120 °C for 1000 hours. Although oxidation test limits of the ISO-LDAC/ G/H/J specifications have not yet been defined, and the ROCOT tests are indicative of high stability, particularly bearing in mind the long hours run. The best evidence for the excellent oxidation stability of the Enersyn RC-S lubricants and their overall high performance is the entirely satisfactory results of service trials carried out using rotary-screw compressors operating in severe conditions (120 °C) for over 4000 hours with no change of lubricant.

BP Transcal N is a heat transfer oil formulated using a highly refined mineral oil, selected for its high thermal stability, resistance to oxidation and low volatility.

 

Applications

Transcal N is primarily intended for use in non pressurised, closed liquid phase heating systems where oxidation of the oil cannot take place because contact with air has been

Description
The Energol THB range has been developed to meet the lubrication requirements for turbines and turbo compressors where a mineral-based oil is required.

Applications

Description
BP Turbo Oil 2380 gas turbine lubricant is a combination of a highly stable synthetic base fluid and a unique chemical additive package. The combination provides outstanding thermal and oxidation stability to resist deterioration and deposit formation in both the liquid and vapour phases, as well as excellent resistance to foaming.
The effective operating range of BP Turbo Oil 2380 is between -40°C and 204°C. Pour point is -57°C. The product has a high specific heat in order to ensure good heat transfer from oil-cooled engine parts. The high degree of oxidation resistance of BP Turbo Oil 2380 permits long periods of operation without significant increase in viscosity or total acidity.

 

Applications
BP Turbo Oil 2380 is recommended for aircraft gas turbine engines of the turbo-jet, turbo-fan, turbo-prop, and turbo-shaft (helicopter) types in commercial and military service. It also is recommended for aircraft-type gas turbine engines in industrial or marine application.
