Description
Turbinol is a range of premium turbine oils based on specially selected mineral base oils and additives to obtain a very high degree of oxidation stability . In addition, they contain additives to protect metal surfaces against corrosion and to suppress foaming, whilst retaining good air release properties.

These oils have been formulated to be compatible with the components used in turbines and associated equipment and they contain an inhibitor to prevent catalytic acceleration of auto-oxidation of lubricant hydrocarbons by traces of metals. They are also zinc-free.

 

Applications
Turbinol oils can be used for the lubrication and cooling of bearings and gear boxes of steam, gas and water turbines and associated equipment, such as turbine governor systems, sealing oil systems, turbo-couplings as well as for the lubrication of turbo compressors.

Description
Energol TH-HT is a range of industrial turbine lubricants, formulated from highly refined, mineral base oils and a selection of (ashless) performance additives.
The inherent oxidation resistance of these oils is further enhanced through the inclusion of an oxidation inhibitor.
Other additives in the oils ensure good protection against corrosion, suppression of foaming, enhanced water separation and load –carrying characteristics.

 

Applications
The Energol TH-HT oils are formulated to lubricate and cool the bearings of industrial turbines. They can be used in steam and water turbines. These oils tolerate bulk operating temperatures up to 100 °C and occasional peak temperatures of up to 130 °C.

Description
BP Turbo Oil 2380 gas turbine lubricant is a combination of a highly stable synthetic base fluid and a unique chemical additive package. The combination provides outstanding thermal and oxidation stability to resist deterioration and deposit formation in both the liquid and vapour phases, as well as excellent resistance to foaming.
The effective operating range of BP Turbo Oil 2380 is between -40°C and 204°C. Pour point is -57°C. The product has a high specific heat in order to ensure good heat transfer from oil-cooled engine parts. The high degree of oxidation resistance of BP Turbo Oil 2380 permits long periods of operation without significant increase in viscosity or total acidity.

 

Applications

Perfecto™ SN 46 is a synthetic hydrocarbon based lubricant which has been developed for the lubrication of industrial gas turbines, gas compressors and other items of rotating equipment where high temperatures are encountered or where the critical nature of the plant demands a premium lubricant to ensure long life and reliable operation with extended periods between shut-downs. Perfecto SN 46 has a very high degree of both thermal and oxidative stability which combine to ensure that the lubricating oil system is maintained free from lacquers and deposits especially in the key areas of turbine bearings and scavenge lines, gearboxes (where a high degree of aeration can give rise to oxidation even at moderate temperatures), gas compressor seals and fuel or governor control valves.

 

Application

Perfecto SN 46 is designed for use as a gas turbine lubricant. Its major advantages over mineral oils are particularly demonstrated in its ability to protect equipment during extreme cold weather starting, extended high temperature operation, and where the unit is subject to severe heat soaking after shutdown. Other notable features are excellent wear and rust protection, controlled rubber swell and prevention of sludge or deposit formation.

Perfecto SN 46 is compatible with other synthesised hydrocarbon fluids and with mineral oils. It is not compatible with synthetic ester gas turbine lubricants or with phosphate ester hydraulic control fluids.

The Castrol Perfecto™ X turbine oil range of lubricants is based upon premium quality mineral oils enhanced with rust and oxidation inhibitors to give maximum protection at high temperatures.

 

Application

Castrol Perfecto X grades are recommended for industrial gas turbines where the lubricant is likely to be exposed to very high localised temperatures. They are also suitable for the lubrication of steam turbines and Combined Cycle generating systems where the steam and gas turbines share a common supply. Castrol Perfecto X grades possess superior air release performance, good resistance to foaming and excellent water
separation properties. The Castrol Perfecto X range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluoropolymer seal materials.
