Description
The Energol THB range has been developed to meet the lubrication requirements for turbines and turbo compressors where a mineral-based oil is required.
The additive treatment ensures good anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion and demulsification properties, and absence of foaming in service.

 

Applications
The grades in this range meet the lubrication requirements of steam turbines, but are also suitable for gas turbines and compressors.
Energol THB is adequate for equipment where manufacturers specify or accept a TOST life of 4000 hours (to acidity level 2.0 mgKOH/g).

Castrol Perfecto™ XEP turbine lubricants are based upon premium quality mineral oils enhanced with rust and oxidation inhibitiors to give maximum protection at high temperatures. They also contain antiwear additives to give additional load carrying properties

The Perfecto XEP range is recommended for industrial gas turbines where the lubricant is likely to be exposed to very high localised temperatures. Perfecto XEP lubricants possess superior air release performance, good resistance to foaming and excellent water separation properties. They are also suitable for the lubrication of steam turbines and Combined Cycle generating systems where the steam and gas turbines share a common oil supply. Perfecto XEP lubricants contain a load carrying additive and can be used in geared turbines with a common oil reservoir. They are fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluropolymer seal materials.

 

Perfecto XEP meets the requirements of:

  • British Standard BS 489 DIN 51515-1 and -2
  • General Electric GEK 32568F, 101941 and 107395A (ISO 32)
  • Alstom HTDG 90 117 (formerly ABB) (ISO 32 and 46)
  • Siemens TLV 9013 04 and 05 (ISO 32 and 46)

Castrol Perfecto T turbine oils are based on highly refined mineral oils, with selective additives to improve their inherent high oxidation stability and to protect against corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

 

Application

Castrol Perfecto T oils are primarily intended for the lubrication of steam turbines, base oils used being selected to give the requisite water separation characteristics, resistance to foaming and the good air entrainment properties essential for this demanding application. Castrol Perfecto T turbine oils are also suitable for water turbines, the power turbines of generating sets based on aero-derived gas turbines and for many Industrial gas turbines.
