Castrol Tribol 4747 / 220-2 - Synthetic high temperature grease - 4407

Castrol Tribol 4747 / 220-2 - Synthetic high temperature grease - 4407

CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 high temperature grease with TGOA® is a clear multi-service lubricant designed to extend the service life of bearings in heavy-duty applications and at elevated temperatures. Because of the high base oil viscosity CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 provides a heavier oil film for applications at slower speeds, higher loads and / or higher temperatures. The patented TGOA® additive technology under those adverse conditions provides for an unsurpassed protection against friction and wear. CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 is formulated from a mixture of high-quality synthetic base oils (PAO & ester) and a lithium complex thickener, with corrosion inhibitors and antioxidants for long service life. The load carrying, antiwear and friction reducing capabilities of CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 exceed conventional complex greases. High performance is the result of the TGOA® additives which, under relatively high specific loads and related temperatures, promote a non-destructive smoothing of the surface roughness in the micro-range. The smoothing effect leads to an increase of the actual load carrying area and reduces friction. TGOA® additives are very effective in protecting the machined surface of bearings during the critical “running-in” period. Good bearing surfaces are essential for long bearing life. If, because of shock loads or stop-and-go operation, surface roughness peaks redevelop, the TGOA® additive package is automatically reactivated. Surface roughness is again smoothed and lubrication optimised.

Available in: 18Kg tin, 10x400g cartridges

Application

CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 grease with TGOA® is designed as a multi-service lubricant for heavy-duty applications of rolling and sliding bearings for temperatures up to 160°C (peak temperatures up to 180°C). CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 grease should be used when loads are moderate to heavy and speeds are slow to moderate.

Conditions of Use

  • CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 grease with TGOA® should not be mixed with greases using a different thickener.
  • Lubricating intervals should be increased gradually after changing over to CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 to ensure complete removal of the previous lubricants and to use the TGOA® additives to their full advantage. Their performance might be affected by residual greases containing solid lubricants.
  • At peak temperatures of 180°C relubrication intervals should be established by inspection.

Advantages

  • CASTROL TRIBOL® 4747 with TGOA® offers increased load carrying capabilities due to higher viscosity base oils and surface smoothing as well as friction reducing properties of TGOA®.
  • The lithium complex thickener is characterised by its excellent working and shear stability.
  • Excellent thermal stability (dropping point >250°C).
  • The TGOA® additives ensure reduced wear, lowered operating temperatures as well as extended service life leading to decreased maintenance and repair costs.

Castrol Viscogen KL 15 - Synthetic chain lubricants - 3552

Castrol Viscogen KL 15 - Synthetic chain lubricants - 3552

Designed for high temp lubrication in severe environments where the use of mineral oils or conventional synthetic oils would result in excessive wear, carbonisation and residue formation. KL 3, 23 and 300 available in spray also.

Castrol Viscogen KL™ range are thermally stable synthetic lubricants designed for high temperature lubrication in severe environments, where the use of mineral oils or conventional synthetic oils would result in excessive wear, carbonisation and residue formation. They can be used up to temperatures of +200°C/+390°F, depending on the viscosity.
Viscogen KL have been developed from base fluids which form exceptionally adherent, transparent and odourless lubricating films and an additive system free of solids, metals or silicone which enhances load carrying capability and wear protection.

Application

Viscogen KL is available in 6 different viscosities depending on the ambient and operating conditions. The dimensions of the chain as well as its structural shape (e.g. roller, pin, ladder chains, insertion and flat link hoisting chains) are important when selecting the right viscosity. The way the lubricant is applied must also be considered e.g. manual lubrication, drip feed lubricator, central lubrication, sump lubrication or via spray can.
Viscogen KL finds use in many industrial applications, for example: High-rack storage shelves, bakery machines, paint lines, conveyor chains, tenter frames and dryers, washing plants, underfloor chains, steamers, slashers, baking ovens, slide ways, spindles, ropes, open gear wheels, plastic toothed belts and sheet-fed offset machines.
Viscogen KL 23 is especially suitable for use in BOPP (Biaxially oriented Polypropylene) film stretching machines.

Additional Information:

If lubricant drips off, select next higher viscosity.
Compatible and miscible with mineral oils.
Easy and economical use with adjustable spray head. Spraying foam remains until oil has penetrated into the friction point.

Pack sizes available - 5L, 20L

Castrol Tribol 800-220 - Synthetic Gear Oils - 4342

Castrol Tribol 800-220 - Synthetic Gear Oils - 4342

Castrol Tribol™ 800 synthetic gear oils have been developed for the lubrication of heavily loaded gears, bushings and bearings which may operate over a broad range of temperatures from ambient to elevated temperatures (>80°C/176°F). They are particularly intended to extend the service life of both lubricant and machine parts where unusually high operating and oil reservoir temperatures are encountered. The high performance characteristics of Tribol 800 are achieved with select polyalkyleneglycol (PAG) based synthetic fluids. They feature chemical and thermal stability, high viscosity index, water solubility, and compatibility with metals and elastomers most commonly used in machine construction. The naturally high resistance to oxidation of the synthetic base fluid is further enhanced by inhibitors. Corrosion protection is very effective even in the presence of water. Also, a package of high performance additives acts in combination for superior anti-wear and Extreme Pressure (EP) performance.

Application

The Tribol 800 range is especially suited to reservoirs and circulation systems operating at high temperatures because of heat generated in severe service or high temperatures in the application. Castrol Tribol 800’s are intended for all types of heavily loaded gears including spur, bevel and worm gears. Although well suited for all types of gearing and bearings, the Tribol 800 range is particularly effective in controlling wear and reducing friction between sliding surfaces. In addition, they possess a high degree of affinity for cupric metal alloys.

Advantages

  • Shear stability - the synthetic base offers high viscosity index (VI) without the addition of VI improvers. In service, VI improvers can shear, lowering oil viscosity and reducing protection critical for gear sets and bearings. The naturally high VI of Castrol Tribol 800 assures full protection for components over a wide range of operating temperatures, speeds, and load conditions.
  • Long life, extended drain intervals are possible because of the natural aging and oxidation resistance of the synthetic base fluid. Advanced Castrol Tribol lubrication technology forms friction-fighting, anti-wear films that can significantly reduce local operating temperatures as gear teeth or bearing surfaces come into contact.
  • More protection for components in severe service. The extended EP performance of Tribol 800 offers protection beyond the capabilities of conventional petroleum oils.
  • Wear protection under conditions of extreme temperature fluctuation and high loads.
  • High efficiency and lower oil temperature, especially in worm gear units.
  • High corrosion protection of cast and steel surfaces through special additive packages, even in the presence of water.
  • Compatibility with non-ferrous metals through well-formulated synergistic additives.
  • Potential energy savings as a result of a lower coefficient of friction.
  • Reduction of maintenance costs as a result of significantly increased life of the lubricant.

Additional Information:
Tribol 800 synthetic gear oils are water soluble, so spills may be cleaned up with water. They are NOT compatible with mineral (petroleum) based lubricants. Condensation water may be absorbed without the damage of corrosion or a change in viscosity. Cleaning lubrication systems with a flushing oil or Tribol 800 prior to the first filling is recommended. To achieve long drain cycles and obtain the economic advantages, systems must be free of contaminants.
The Tribol 800 range is compatible with most seals including Viton A and nitrile or Buna N (NBR). 800’s are NOT compatible with neoprene (polychloroprene) and butadiene seals - mixed polymers, stryenebutadienes, polystyrene, or methacrylates.
